where can i find it , how can i change it & how much will it costs
my cars using a fair bit of juice around town. have wound back afm to approx 382 ( was 70).cleaned the temp sensor too.
just past the header, where they all meet into one. there is a little stick thing with a wire in it. it goes inside the pipe. that can unscrew i think.
Half a carton and still going!!! Now thats Economy
thanks buddy i thought it was that
do you know how much they are to replace?
I know this isnt apart of your question, but how does one check the afm sensor?

take the plugs off the o2 sensors, get a multimeter and probe the black wire and the purple wire on each 02 sensor. it should be fluctuating between 0.0 and about 0.7 volts when warmed up revving at about 2000rpm, so its gonna be some hot work unless you can find the wire that goes into the ecu. Id go and look at mine but its in the workshop at the moment. best to do it under the car jacked up with somebody keeping the revs up about 2000 rpm. the voltage should fluctuate a couple of times per second from 0.0 to 0.70. if one or both are sitting at around 0.7 they are either buggered or the earth is no good to them. you will probably find one is buggered and one bank of the engine is running in open loop mode and the other in closed.
each o2 sensor? how many are there??? and 120bucks, you'd think thats a bit steep considering its about the size of a spark plug...and i believe you have to have some sort of sealant for the new one...Was getting told the other day,(trying to recall) heat res. gal paint could prob do the job.?. also some sort of gluey sealant aswell.
To check the afm sensor, pull the plug off connecting to it, put a multimeter (on ohms) across the 2 ends, on the little teeth things and get a reading of 382, mines 384 so i didn't bother changing it.
one o2 sensor on an rb 30. maybe 2 on a v6. dunno bout that.

Is it 382 ohms or 0.382?
Go aftermarket ECU with closed loop and forget all about your O2 sensor worries.
382 ohms or 0.382kohms you will see the k on the multimeterOriginally Posted by Spastic

what r they worth and whereabouts would i be looking to find 1?Originally Posted by rb26dett
I think the only 2 who do it are Autronic or Motec.
So your looking at around $3000 to have it fitted and tuned.
yep thats some good advice you've got there mate, only $3000 to fix our o2 sensor worries? Well you should of told us all earlier!
We should all do rb26dett conversions while were at it yeah!?

what probs will you have if the o2 sensor is rooted anyways?
Very bad fuel economy for starters.
