Does any one know where I can find the Main Cruise Control box inside the cabin? and how big is it? (picture any one?)

as far as i know all the electrics are in the vaccum servo module.
If you mean the cruise control module it will be a black box located on the drivers side, under the dash, to the right of the steering column and to the left of the radio.
If its the switch module it is another smaller black box situated behind the instrument cluster.

Hey Mad Dog,
thanks you are a starand you have nailed it
It was the big one, I found the smaller one after following the wires from the switch , I have asked a few people and got all sorts of answer's
, also do you know what the thick Vacuum tube from the servo unit under the bonnet is for? it states in my book that it is for a "Vaccum Brake Release Valve"?

If you are talking about the vacuum hose that goes from the servo into the firewall, yes that plugs into a vacuum release switch, which when activated will release the pull on the throttle and thus deactvate the cruise or reduce the speed.

Thanks for all your great help with this, is this "Vacuum release switch" controlled by the normal brake peddle? or is it something else??

In VL's with cruise control the brake switch fitted to the brake pedal also included a cruise disengage switch so if the brake is pressed the system disengages. I believe that this switch on the brake pedal works together with the Vacuum Release Valve mentioned in the previous posts, in so far as if the switch on the pedal is tripped the valve in turn releases the vacuum pull on the throttle cable.
