Could u guys tell me if this is any good and will a stardern vl be able to handle the power they cost $1950 and boost 10psi

looks alright ay. does it give you the ability to boost higher if you strengthen your internals?
Yes........yes it is, and yes your standard rb30 will handle moderate boost with a decompression plate but its hard to say for how long, The kit makes 115rwkw on a standard engine with decomp plate and no other mods, with freeflowing exhaust, intercooler and upgraded fuel system will probably grow to near 140rwkw or so. and no turbo lag just instant boost, and the ability to switch it off when not needed is handy too.
Searching may do you a huge favour when it comes to supercharging the rb30. Basically in a nutshell- that kit is overpriced for what it is, with people doing setups before for as cheap as 600 dollars.
The charger itself is too small for the engine so the puff tends to run out and you end up gutless at higher rpm as your getting up into your longer gears.
First of all with that setup you miss out on power steering and aircon unless you want to later change/ or adapt a new bracket yourself, where as other people that have done it themselves have managed to adapt a new bracket allowing them to keep the aircon/ power steering while still having the supercharger strapped onto the side.
In my opinion the decompression plate is also pointless, 5-6 psi isn't going to hurt the engine and all its doing is making it even harder for the little charger to pump out some power.
Investigate lots before you get into it, I know I've posted in alot of these threads about the little SC14 charger on these forums- so there should be a thread in there somewhere with alot of replies. If you can't find it- I'll have a search when I get home tonight for a few relevant threads.
Basically though, if you've got 1800 dollars on you, your best off putting it aside for now and keep saving.
As long as your tune was fine and the temp was cool enough, higher boost would be achieved with the larger diameter pulley. The more spins the more its turning. Does shorten the lifespan of the supercharger, as its turning faster then it was designed for. They are only 200 dollars or so each so its not a huge deal if they burn out.Originally Posted by bangers
