I dont know the answer but the VN is an inch and a half wider and also longer than the VL although some say it was mounted on the VL floorpan???

back seat wont fit, its too wide, will need to be cut. Fronts will, use the VL rails. being an '87 you may have series 2 rails yay! if not, you've got series 1 & I think? you may need to chnage them?

If its series 2, does that mean less needs doing to make it fit?

The only things that will fit straight in really are the front seats, The VL passenger seat has offset rails due to the placement of the CAT under the floor under the seat. so you will have to swap rails on at least the passenger side. What colour is your interior? I've got a whole tan interior from an exec in ok condition (door trims and all seats.).
Let me know if your interested.

they changed the rails in series 2, not much but makes it easier to fit VN seats.
