yer, ive got the change over down pat ,but what a bad design, you cant help but spilling it over block ect then clean it up with a rag and degreaser![]()

when you undo the filter, try to tip it with the screw hole upwards so most of the oil will stay in it
absolutely never run the engine with no oil in it
Ive had trouble with ryco filters with non return valves not working and dont use ryco anymore
dam japs still pissed of about world war 2.who ever designed these motors must be pissin them selves laughin, the only way not to spill oil would be to tip the car on its side.lol
do what i do, put paper towelling or newspaper under the filter. you still get a little oil on the chassis rail but it's minimal.
good idea![]()
mmmm doin it with beer is more fun but hey, thats just me
problem is ,i get dizzy bending over the car, to change the oil filter.![]()

well just ged a bit of degreaser, it'll bring it up better than before. it costs nothign anyway. and another tip, if you put a bit of oil into the new filter beforew you put it on it helps speed up the oil pressure process not that it takes long anyway.
my web sitestuff on the XF throttle body conversion, calais interior and lots of other junk!

yah, but why use the old oil? when i change the filter i dip my finger in the new oil and smear it over the gasket and thread, then screw it onOriginally Posted by ucwepn
is it recomended to use the old oil or new? as i see that the new oil would have clean propertys and would be in good condion so it wouldnt wear off quicker then old stuff
