    Lightbulb vl power cuts

I have had trouble with my ol' girl cutting out on me some days. I've had auto electricians and all sorts of mechs look at it with the same reply "that's really weird!" I'll be driving along, tromp on the accel pedal and she dies on me, usually at 60, 80 and 100kph. Finally I thought that maybe the alarm that doesn;t work any more (goes berko when on) might be activating a kill switch or something so now I just give her a little spank under the red button and we're away again. Does this sound like something anyone else has heard of?
    Cheers

sounds similar to mine happening for over six months i changed everything nothing changed,in the fuel tank is a low pressure pump clean sack on bottom of that also a rubber fuel line joining this pump to steel fuel line in tank mine was ratshit changed that run good now, had everyone stuffed, when fuel is above this steel line the high pressure pump could still suck fuel but when fuel low would die, would idle but press accelerator would die,let me know how you go

Kinda sounds like you answered your own question, you hit the little red button that you've got for the alarm? And it works again?

    Default my baby's sick

Im having some troubles with my VL-its my pride and joy had it for 11 yrs now. I have stopped driving it recently- getting abit old now. Its stock rb30 series 2 block auto. not many mods- just extractors, cold air intake-thats about it.
Running abit sick now-ill be driving and ill loose power. The car will be running but i cant accelerate and loose power.I have to brake/slow down and power might kick in again and if that doesnt work i have to pull over and re start the engine and shes all sweet again.other times while im driving it'll just stall with no warning at all.
Ive taken it to an auto electrician, they had it for 2 days but they couldnt fault find cause the fault happened too quickly for them to fault. They suggested it may be the C.A.S but i dont think so.
If anybody has any idea what it could possibly be, would be great to hear from you.
If i cant get this problem fixed im thinking of chucking a v8 in but converting a VN/VP ss motor into carby cause injected is too hard to fault.
    Cheers

could well be your CAS bud..
very temperemental they are... CAS can just sh#t itself,, or slowly fail..
i would try another CAS from a working vl to c if that helps.
could even br your AFM failing as well. these 2 componants play a major role on the commie..
and as they are 20+ years now many other elec systems are prone to stop...
at first i would try cleaning CAS plug on top of dizzy as i know this plug corrodes out(green corrosion) then spray with RP7/INOX/Wd40 as well as all other electrical plugs..
    there is a starting point.
How are the Leads and PLugs rotor arm and dizzy cup contacts clean/replace if necessary
