i'm about to pick up a manual vl body (minus motor and box) to replace the one that was totalled. a strait engine and box swap would be simple but the problem is that the missus won't drive a manual, so i have to convert the new shell from manual to auto(yes i know it's two steps backward).

anyway, what i want to know is what will i need to pillage my old car for to make the new one a goer?

tailshaft, computer, pedal cluster, T.P.S, looms, auto computer, centre console piece, shifter and linkages....that's all i can think of at the moment...hope it helps

can't, bought the shell for $400 minus motor and box.

"looms" as in entire wiring loom or certain parts thereof?

as far as i know you need the loom that runs to the auto control unit and the one that runs to the T.P.S. i don't know if the auto and manuals came with the same looms and they just didn't plug certain stuff in or what.....i also forgot to mention that you will also need the looms off the auto box....the ones that run behind the booster

also, i read the manual and apparently the auto computer was standard on the berlina and calais, but optional on the sl

the manual can use the auto ecu but not vice versa. i'd give you my box and spare ecu with pedal assembly but i don't have the cash yet to put my manual in. if you're still hunting in a few months let me know.

thanks, i've got the auto and motor+ all parts needed from the smashed ride, i just thought if he was giving away a free reco box.........

the motor went in today and now i just have to plug everything in i'll post pics later

i just realised there's nowhere to plug in the ati box on the right side under the dash. is this the auto control box and am i going to completly transplant the loom?

thats the control box.....if the plugs aren't there then i think that you have to change the loom
