VL engine swap ideas

Got a 98 model vl commodore sedan the poor old motor n auto gearbox has seen better days, anyways body is clean as hell rust free and i havea 5k budget seeking ideas of a motor & gearbox swap
Was thinking RB26dett or RB25det to have change left over maybe even a decent Fordged Rb30 engine with RB26 head but any ideas would be helpful doesnt have to be RB engine just working with a budget

Going LS1 after having a chat to Castle main rod shop and afew engineers , just need to sorce a decent place that can make a tailshaft and the rest should be good
