Vl commodore not starting

Hey everyone I'm new to the vl scene. Recently I bought a 1986 vl and it ha no distributor. So I put a dizzy in and it won't start is there a trick I have to do to Make it start.

did you line the new dizzy up properly? if the timing is out of wack it will never run. in addition to that, anything could stop a VL that age from starting. more info is required.
