VL Formula

Hi people. My girlfriends' dad is looking at buying a 1988 VL Formula. Rough paint, nice formula insignia interior, 5 litre black engine,auto,etc.$2500. Now to the point. Is there anything special about them and is this a good buy? I have test driven it (goes hard) and it is mech A1. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

to buy a "Mech A1" V8 ur lookin at that sorta money anyway so to get a whole car with it for free is pretty good, if he got the money i say go for it

$2500 sounds like a decent price for a VL V8. There were quite a few Formula VLs sold with six cylinder as well, don't know how many V8s there were or the total number of the Formulas.
Mechanically identical to the stock cars, just with white paint, stripes and formula stickers. It was pointed out in a recent post that they were based on the execs with all extras being optional except they came with the FE2 suspension.
