Hi Guys
Does anyone now if u can mod a VL computer (ECU) or connect it up to a computer or something. because it would be cool if u could.
what do you mean by mod????cause you can chip them but that's really it.....as for plugging a computer into them as far as i know you can't
Click the scales.....you know you want to!!!!
Moding a meant editing the ECU code changing fuel mixers. i now there a engine diagnostic connection is on the vl computer but i dont now if anything connect to connect to it.
I now there OBD 2 (On-Board Diagnostic systems) for car that where made after 1996 but I dont now if there that much for car before that with computer. all i wont to do is read the sensor and change the code so u could get better performance out of the car.
when i rang up holden a few years back they said they had a computer called tech 1 which could only go on vn upwards....maybe there is a nissan one or some sort of aftermarket sorta thing.....
Click the scales.....you know you want to!!!!
I dont think that there is anything like that, you go for a chip, or go for an aftermarket computer.
Do aftermarket computer work on any car like Haltech aftermarket computers

Any car with fuel injection.
You just need to find a tuner who is good at tuning the computer that you buy.
what would be a good aftermarket computer to buy for a na vl and where would i be able to get one from.
Yeah you want a "piggyback" ecu which connects to the standard ecu and lets you change the parameters, If the rest of the car is stock I would recommend getting an ecu last on the list because bang for buck there are better mods for less money. and a lumpier cam to go with it would be a nice addition too.
Tuning wont be a problem Im a programmer. that why i wont to get a Haltech so i could progam it. That cool, but where do u get one and whats the prices. And a lumpier cam does sound nice as well.
hey! there's a little nissan ecu program that does the job on the VL eprom, I downloaded it a couple years ago from a website in japan, not sure where it is anymore but it does exsist!
Microtech for the price is really hard to go past.
I dont know all that many people with Haltechs in VL commodores, seem to be mostly Microtech, Autronic or Motec.
Personally I use a Autronic computer and think it is a great unit.
I'm leaning towards a Microtech a few mods down the track - Bigger Injectors, Fuel System, High Mount and larger turbo.
However, I wouldn't really bother putting 1000+ worth of ecu on an n/a. All you'd really be changing is your maps if you tuned the standard one. I wouldn't worry too much about it at all. Get a gutload of mods and then get it chipped to suit.
These ECU brand are they all extremely edit able in very way posable in changing setting from laptop way.
Like the Microtech and Haltech there about the same price range maybe the Microtech is a little bit cheaper. All aftermarket ECU are expence and are probably not worth the money unless u wont to edit setting, see what the motor is doing and tune to your liking the motor to run at.
The Haltech E6GMX lookes alright and so does Microtech LT10S
Usually the dearer the ECU, the more load points that it maps.
IF you can afford to spend time tuning the car, it can be very rewarding
OK thanks for the info. Im just a control freak i like to have control on my equipment. My computer is overclock to the max and its cool as.
how that rb26dett motor turbo run. doit run better then the standed rb30 motor.
In standard form there is no comparison.
I do not have an RB26, I have an RB30.
Just use the name on the forum.
