hey i have two vl commodores-one with good body, but bad engine, the other with bad body and awseome engine(im swapping the engines). the bad body car flies, and has heaps of power. Today i was working on the motor stripping it down and stuff and removed the the rocket cover. To my shock the oil was pitch black and full of garbage, like sand metal and heaps of chunky stuff. So im wondering, how the hell is it that this car performs quite well??? And also, im taking the motor out, stripping it, cleaning it, and getting new pistons if i need to. I have extractors, 2 1/2inch exhaust, and custom airbox. how many kilowatts do you think i would get when im finished? my dad reckons that a new VL motor has 160kw????is this true?![]()
apparently they came out with 114Kw standard. i reckon mabey 90 somethin at the wheels in a stocker???

saw on here earlier 114 for n/a, 150 for turbo... im pretty sure 0.7kw = 1hp, which would make 114kw around 160hp...

yeah... 0.746 kw = 1 hp
now sure about NM and pounds/foot tho
so the current vz clubsport r8 has 296kw which is about 400HP, makes it sound alot tougher 400hp

yeah i like the sound of the hp readings too, but mayb im jus tryna compensate for my small wang... lol!![]()
