calais dash into berlina

well im needing a new dash soon coz my trip isnt working and its really pissing me off,
i was wondering did all the calais come with low fuel warning lights? i was read my holden vl hand book and it said where fitted, so would this be optional over the complete range?

would this have to be wired up or would all the cables be already hiding in the dash some where coz its optional. if i was to need to wire it what would be needed? what sensor, new float in the tank?

it will all work fine except the oil guage, someone else can explain that... i don't know that much... but it just plugs in the same as the other one no problems...

im talking bout berlina dash 2 calais. they both had the oil pressure gauge and volts, i just wasnt sure bout the low fuel indercatorand if it was stock on calais

Series 2 Calais Clusters have low coolant and low fuel warning lights. And a Reverse light. Not sure about series 1.

ahh thanx bax the info i needed. would i have to wire up a sensor into thje tank or would it already be there and just plugs in to loom bhind the cluster

I can't remember seeing any spare wires for it when I switched from my tacho dash to my s2 calais cluster. So, I'd only be guessing, but I'd say a switch would need to be put in.

well ive think ive solved the prob getting a fuel light to work

on the bak of the dash there is three spots for light bulbs top1 is the low fuel, middle is low coolant(calais only) or low oil on executive, and the bottom1 has no use.
simply place a globe the corect size in and with teh correct holder and it should work (cant use the globes of the indercator signal rail thing).
im pritty sure it will work because the chunky black clip on the bak has 17 points in it and on the bak of the dash there is a little table showing what each use is, point number 17 is low fuel sensor which i have in my connector
so im hoping it will work, bout 2 go try, i know ive got a low tank off [petti so lets c iff it works

I thought the berlina and calais items were the same. Have you checked that the globe is in there? when I pulled my old cluster out some globes were missing from the top where the idiot lights are. and even now I still don't have them all in my new cluster (just lazyness I suppose)

ahhh ok yeah I didn't look at the images you posted. If you get the right globe holders and globes they may just work automatically from the circuit board that the holders sit in.

thats what im hopeing will happn, i got teh bulb/holder of my old cars dash as it was sxective and had a low oil light, i think the copper track which the curnt runs on is on the other side of the fiberglass like surface (green stuff) and if it is im going to be over the moon
ill inform yous if it works when im low on fuel, im at the 1/4 tank stage at the moment so not long

yes the copper ribbon runs acress these holes I have had the dash apart but this was a while ago.

well i dont think it workd might need the float out of a calais or a vl witch had it, impritty sure mine didnt work but i cant tell coz my dash is diff, got a white center below the clock so was guessing by it lighting the square under the clock, i got 2 paronid i was goign 2 run out of fuel so i topd up
