Can someone please help me.
I have the paint code of my VL, and i was after the specific colour name, as i want to do some touch up painting to match the rest of the car.
Id describe the colour as a sky blue sorta colour, but the code is; 2B 037-D.
Can anyone translate that for me?
Thanks
Charles.
The only sky blue VL i've ever seen is this one:
Peter Block Blue
its called 'peter block blue' apparently... dunno if this is your though???![]()

According to the info I have, the colour that matches your code is called "Morning Blue" and is a Light metallic Blue.Originally Posted by SuperStar

You are correct, VL Executive. It is indeed 2B037 - Morning Blue. It would have to be an '87 model because Morning Blue was specific to that year.
PS: Morning Blue was also known as Morning Lake.
I also got told it was called Morning Mist? Would that be right?
Isnt it funny how people have their own interpertation of the paint colour. ie morning mist, morning lake, im supprized someone hasnt added 'good' infornt of the morning! lol.
Anyway i decided to give up on the spray paint, it was going to cost me between $500 and $700 just to do from the top of the bumpers down, all the way down, and the calais front end. Which didnt sound too bad, but then they said they wont spray it with cracks in the bumper, and missing molds on the bumper... Which was going to cost an extra $250 all up. So i figured, ### it. Considering i only wanted a quick coat, to make the car all the same colour for the time being, as i plan on respraying it nicely in a few more years.
I can get 2 litres of 'morning blue' paint for about $80, so now i just gotta find where to get a spay kit.
I also read somewhere about people taking their cars to TAFE to get the students to spray the car basically at the cost of the paint. But i have to enquire as to if my local tafe does this... hopefully so...
Thanks alot guys.
I've never heard of Morning Mist, but Morning Lake isn't a *EDIT* name. I have right in front of me, a Dulux Paint Samples book... "Morning Lake Met" Shade number... "35456" Code... "Code: 2B 037". That might be strictly Dulux's name but I can confirm that Holden ONLY ever called it Morning Blue. I have Holden Parts Finder printouts to confirm that... but unfortunately no brochures.

*LINE REMOVED DUE TO CURSIVE LANGUAGE AND ABUSE* "yea most people refer to it or call it morning lake etc but if you want the correct name its actually called morning blue you didn’t have to be a know it all dick about it
*ENTIRE POST REMOVED DUE TO ABUSE*
And also in the future I bet not every one goes by the exact paint names so if he or the rest of us are with people an they are talking about there vl that is morning lake we will all know what colour they are talking about

While I agree with points made ie correctness etc I have closed this thread to prevent further attacking or comments we'd rather leave out of the conversation.
SuperStar PM if you need to re-open this thread.
