Hi guys i think i gota put a new cas into my car....and also the bearing behind it at least thats where i think it is......
I was just wondering if anyone knows how much the CAS and the bearing would cost and how much for some one to instal it?
Any help would be much appreciated...

Hi, thanks heaps for the advice... i'll inquire bout it.
Cheers, James
The car will still run if the CAS is on its way out. Will start then splutter once getting towards operating temp.
I've seen kits for 130, new CAS, bearing, Plug and Seal.
Don't let auto electricians take you for a ride.
hey bax can you tell me mroe about the whole start then splutter thing?
trying to identifiy issue with my car at start up
Half a carton and still going!!! Now thats Economy
CAS??? I've problably heard what it is and forgotten, but it doesn't help some ppl, when they read through and everyone is referring it to CAS etc, like CAI etc. It would just help a few of the dum dums like myself if some could mention the full thing once in the thread. Cheers

Crank Angle Sensor. If Bax can get a kit for 130 he's doing well. I've seen them for 130 or so for just the sensor. 150 upwards for bearing and plug included.
Starting and spluttering.
Well its pretty common for the cas not to die completely, it may be on its way out and it won't show up in the fault codes when you run them.
The car will start and idle normally for say, 5 minutes, generally until it reached operating temperature. (I'll say it now, this was specific to my car when it happened, so look for similarities)
Once it started getting towards operating temperature occasionally it would miss every now and then… It was very inconsistent, i.e you couldn't listen and hear that it was once every cycle etc. It would happen whenever it liked. I checked nearly everything, until finally we got a timing light on it just to check the pulse going through the leads. And we found that randomly each spark plug was losing power. We confirmed this later on by removing a lead and holding it - with a piece of wood, over the strut tower, and the spark was jumping to a bolt. We would see that it'd jump consistently but then when the engine would start struggling, you would see the spark would disappear for seconds at a time.
Same thing while driving, on occasion it would be fine, then all of a sudden the car would lurch back and fourth, miss like crazy and you couldn't do anything to stop it..
Eventually it would have died, but it went on like this for about.. A week, until I decided I needed to get it replaced.
I'll have to see if this guy can still source the entire kit for the price he once did. Hopefully so though.
Cheers.
Bloody hell! $100??? Mine cost more than that! Cant remember exactly but it wasnt that cheap! And i got mine direct aswell!
cas trade at holden full kit $115 i didn't worry bought changing bearing took 10 mins
If you don't change the bearing the dust gets back into it and will screw your new CAS..
