the nose on the VL was redesigned partly to make the car look different from the front but it did also reduce air resistance at high speed by quite a bit, the new design was checked out at the GM windtunnel in the USA
the rear spoiler on the bootlid was for appearance only and wasnt checked
the long nose gives the VL a poor approach angle and care needs to be taken as the bottom of the radiator can be hit on a steep driveway, etc
the following model, the VN was 1 and a half inches wider but some say was built on the VL floorpan as money was very short at the time at holdens, anyone know for sure?
yep, same floor pan. wider panelling.
