what engine do you have? i wouldn't worry about a 9 inch unless you have a worked V8. They can use more of your power as they are a heavier diff. if you want to stay auto then it depends on your engine power again. shift kit or different box all together. if you want to go manual then a rb26 (?) box i think can run 370kw before needing to be strengthened.

i have a n/a rb30 but it will be getin a alot of work done, not much spared, so hoppin for about 400 horsies thats why i was thinkin of a nine inch but the box will stay auto do u know how much the standard box can handle with work done to em

Yeah go with a stage 2 shift kit (they don't make them for vl's so just get a bigger valvebody fitted), bigger fans and clutches fitted will help too (and maybe a big custom trans cooler). Go for a 28 spline vl turbo diff, they are well strong.

like bangers said the 9 inch is a waste of time. youll be amazed at how strong the diff you have is, then when you have all this power (??) youll know what to get based on the gains.

Turbo lsd will hold on for a long time.

yeah i origanally thought of the turbo diff but the cost double 2 buy n rebuild the turbo would be ideal tho

I've got a mate who was running the 25 spline std 3 litre diff behind a manual 470hp blown 5litre for awhile. Admittedly, it did snap an axle after awhile, but you would be amazed at the abuse it took.

You would have to have some serious horsepower, or changing gears pretty hard to be hurting these diffs. At the end of the day I spose it comes down to what you want to spend?? $15 to $40 for a 25 spline axle, or between $1000 and $2000 on setting up a 9 inch that you may never reach its power potential.
