+How would I go about fitting an XF throttle body to the RB30

Are there other easy financally friendly options I could use?

the only thing i know of doing to the stock AFM to get a bit more flow is remove the mesh either side of it although ive heard of cases where ppl have done this and its stopped working, i think its because the front mesh displaces the air evenly so it gets an accurate reading, if thats a problem for you just remove the back one (the engine side).

There is some minor modification that needs to be made to the intake manifold before the XF TB can be bolted on. Im not exactly sure whats involved in this although im pretty sure its been covered on here so do a search, calaisturbo.com might also have some information about it. I do know it can be difficult to get the TPS right with the auto's.

Hi , if you have no other mods to your engine you will not notice any difference in fitting an xf throttlebody. Go and buy a k&n filter then you can take the AFM mesh's out because the filter has its own mesh.

There is no point upgrading the throttlebody and afm of you use the standard intake pipe and airbox. If you buy an aftermarket ECU you can get rid of the AFM all together.

Nah I dont have any other mods but I can get the TB for free and I am planning to mod it now that its running again. Are there any parts I could take from a VL Turbo and fit it to the motor???

With the intake pipe could I somehow make my own or should I look out for a ceramic coated one?

Oh and its an Automatic SL if that helps. Thanks

what sort of ECU is that? if i got rid of the AFM that would be one less thing to worry about failing.

yea if u get an aftermarket ecu in most cases u can get rid of the afm alltogether... put ya looking at 1100+ for that......as for the xf throttle body not to much is involved as long as u got a dremal and some mechanical kno how.......u do need to renforce the bit where the throttle body bolts to with more weld as u will need to grind a fair bit out to come flush with the size of the xf TB....and be sure to get a series 2 xf throttle bodie as it far easier to hook up

My Autronic does not use the AFM or O2 sensor.
