hey pplz, like the title says... The Car Doesnt Start In Park..
Well sometimes it does, but most of the time i have to start it in neutral..
Any ideas why this may be??
I wonder what those scales on the top right side of my posts do...
Does it start in Neutral?
Check the sensor under the console, the only wire on the gearshift, may need to be replaced
i had this problem with my car. i had the "inhibbiter switch" (i think thats what it was) replaced, works fine now.
Yeh thats what I was trying to say LOLOriginally Posted by MT269U
It's a safety switch, mounted on the shifter it might be adjustment or dirty contacts or just worn out..Originally Posted by markiuliano

RIP Peter (perfect) Brock....
assuming its the same as mine, there is no provision for adjustment. its the sort of thing you have to do yourself.
Its not hard to get into the selector and see whats happening, youll soon know if points are broken or burnt out when you have a look.
I had to remove a point from the neutral selection because it was screwed and causing all sort of issues (starter to spin when selecting reverse etc)
try neutral switch mate

mine does this i just bang the shifter a little forward and all is well i spose i could adjust the cable on the shifter but really couldn't be stuffed i think of it as a security feature cause if i can't start it no one else can
