so the time has finnally come for the mighty VL to step aside and make way for a newer model. my brother is going to canada and needs to sell his car (VS) ill buy it![]()
i plan on advertising mine for 5000. i realize this is a bit steap but i figured ill start high.
the car is in excellent condition and hasNO RUST. runs great except for some niggling problems at start up which id hope to eliminate before sale. paint work is great and engine is near new. it will have a sony head unit and either cdt or pioneer 6 x 9 and 6 inch speakers. central locking, berlina dash and center console. grey interior, half tyres, perfect tint still, and may or may not have a cold air intake. (think ill remove it) also itll look nice and shiny when any one comes to look at it. it has about 240000 ks on the clock. which stopped working at about 235000.
its a stock rb30e. not lowered, '87 americas cup special. auto. its been in my family for about 5 or six years now and has ALL the service papers etc
any one have an oppinion of what i might get for it?![]()

mate thats in bloody good nic id ask the same too, no less than 4. make sure you advertise it with IN EXCELENT CONDITION. just look at that interior, actually id keep it n drop an injected fighlitre init...
up grade ?? personally i dun like the vl's but thats in top nick man , think about it do u really want to sell that off to someone who might destoy such a nice car?? i wouldnt be able to live with myself i reakon instead of upgrading cars u should (update) the one u got and go totally nuts with it vl's are so great to do man have a hard think before u throw away a beauty
With Great Horsepower Comes Great Irresponsibility
Keep Both!
id say 3 being rust free. We are looking at around $1000 for a stocky around here, but teh chances of ruse here are vf high.
start 4, gives you room to play people and by very happy to get over 3. i know it sounds harsh but 240 odd thou on the clock and now looking on 20 years old...
Ive seen VS commies going for 5k now... makes me feel old.
Yeah I'm leaning towards starting at 4 aswell.
VS Commies going for 5k, we sold ours for 10 a few years back - I think we paid 22 when we first got it.
Yet mum wants to lecture me about cars not holding value. 22k for a VS that they sell for 10 less than 10 years old. VL - Nearly 20 years old - less then 22k spent and I'll get more then 10 back when it comes time to sell. Hopefully.
no offence but 5k is very high for virtualy a vl exec....i mean u will probably find someone to buy it for that but it might take time....the car si worth as much as u think it is..........but in reality ive seen vl turbos ..go for around 6k..calais go for as low as 2.5k .. vls are cheap...
