Guys, Girls. Getting close to needing some door trims, well. I'm actually alot further away then I'd like to be - Definately not hacking the calais trims to put a window winder hole in the middle.
Anyway! Those whom have taken a door trim off, would have seen the back of it, at the top. You have the weatherstrip that seals between the window.
I'm wanting to replace those with some fresh/ less brittle rubber. Any suggestions?
Dunno Bex thats a boggler, the rubber certainly turns to plastic after 20 years of sun. Tried rare spares? I know Holden have very few parts left in stock for the VL . I've not taken that piece apart so I'm not sure.... Clark rubber? and replace it yourself?
Yeah I'm leaning towards clark rubber. They helped me out with my window surrounds/ channels. I think that was 120 dollars for the four doors. Will help dramatically.
Just by looking at the back of the door trim it looks as though its not a replacable part. I'll find a picture.
Rare spares sell them.
I am going to get 4 myself.
I read it wrong, I thought he meant the external ones.
I will see if they seel the ones in the windows aswell when i go in.
Cheers mate, yeah my external ones are fine for now, but I may change them yet depending on how things go. Fairly sure you can buy entire rubber kits. But I heard they were rather exy.
That would not surprise me one bit!
if your still after vl bit i have a heap! lots listed on ebay and lots not. let me know at j_ackland@aapt.net.au or check out my username on ebay lil_oneblue.
cheers mate
Do you have that part specifically, if not, no thanks.
i dont have it brand new but if you are considering s/h i can have a look and check the condition and get you some snaps etc. but yeh total upto you.
cheers mate
the bits your talking about when i done my hz i repaced them. i got them from rare spares from memory. dunno how much the same they would be to the hz but yeh. wether they would be worth a go?
cheers
If your talking about internal door belts ( they sit at the top pf the trim and against the window) then rare spares carry them, as i just got a set of 4.
Here look at this.
Not the red - I got them from Clark Rubber, 120 dollars I think for all four windows.
Not the yellow, thats the exterior but it seals against the glass.
The aqua/teal, is the inside that seals against the glass, it is on the back of the door trim. Thats the part I need to replace.

its the part attached to the top of the door trim on the inside if you pull it off. it sits in the channel between the window and the actaull door on the inside.

How much did you pay, and do you know how they attach?

No worries mate, looks the goods - I'll have to order in a few weeks.
