vl turbo

hay guys
looking a buyin a new vl turbo. went to look at one the otegr day which hasnt been running apparently for 10months. it is a clean looking car except for a few minor interiour issues. all went well in the test drive untill we were bak in the drive way n he dosed it to show the boost guage n its reading, when i got out of the car there was so much white smoke it looked like he had done a burn out. i assume it is the ring gone? how much would this cost to fix? is there anything else it could be? maybe the time it hasnt been driven for? and just curious how much dose rebuilds usually cost?

could be a blown head gasket or cracked head. white smoke usually indicates water getting into the cylinder.

if hes gonna sell it to u really really really cheap or u want a project it might be worth it but save ya pennies and get something u aint gonna have troubles wit

Could be blown turbo! &/or head.

Yeah large clouds of white smoke on a boosted turbo usually means the turbo has had enough. Blue smoke is usually piston rings. Black smoke is a rich mixture.
