Howdy
Today I have had to buy yet another set of hangers for the muffler (the pair right at the back of the car) - I seem to break at least 1 every few months - it gets annoying. Cas anyone had theis problem, and if so, have they been able to fix it, by maybe using something else instead of the rubber hangers?
Thanks.
when the hangers are on, try levering the hangpoints on the car up to tighten the rubber, the problem may be they are not tight enough and the constant bouncing is tearing them. if you notice that after you have tightened them that the exhaust hits the body of the car then wedge a rubber between the mount and the bump stop. Cos i've got a rear skirt i've got two wedged in there and they are nice and tight and don't tear.
yeah the above post sounds about right but it might not go that high. but probably correct about the bouncing. the roads near you really bumpy? you could try and make your own out of harder rubber.
