Ahhhh I've got even more dramas now so I am without car as I have pulled it off the road today. Started running a little rough this morning, bit worse this arvo then later in the arvo full missfire running on 5 cylinders. 1 of my plugs or leads is gone I suspect, seeing that I have not serviced the car since I got it, serves me right LOL (17,000km's) just oil and filter changes have been done every 5000km's. I will try and scrounge the cash for a service and repair my detheaded head stud prob at the same time.
will keep ya posted.
if you are doing your leads and plugs then do your dizzy cap too. i found one of my leads welded to the cap cos the previous owner didn't get the car serviced properly. Check your rotor too and atleast rub the end with some sandpaper to clean up the contact. If your cap seems alright you can just get contact files from auto places to clean them up.
If the points are gone the button is more than likely going too, Always a good idea to check that and replace. Mine was absolutely shagged. Easy change aswell.
Ok went to ultratune Epping and they are a new shop having only been there for less than 6 months. They looked after me really well, I had the plugs and leads and fuel filter changed, no.2 injector was shagged so they replaced it free of charge from the wreckers next door only had to pay $20 labour for the injector. all up was $220. My dizzy cap has a few small hairline cracks but I told them I will replace that my self as its only 2 screws.
Running beautifully now doesn't struggle when you load the engine up anymore.
I will chase up a dizzy cap later and let ya know how that goes.
thats good to hear, just go to the wreckers and find a cap that is in good cond and use that one, mostr will be really good, cos the cars havent been driven for 5 - 10 years anyway
