    Default I am VL illiterate!!

Today I drove a VL for the first time, and I must say, I quite liked it!!

The only thing that pissed me off was the fuel pump was making this horrid noise and drove me up the wall!! It sounded like there was no petrol in the tank. A sort of gurgling noise. But the car drove fine. It goes really well in fact. (Lots of fun when you put your foot down!!) Does this mean it's on it way out or is it fine and a normal thing for them to do? (Thats what I was told, but I don't really believe them)

The other thing is, the VL I drove is a Berlina wagon. Whats the difference between the Berlina and the executive models? Apart from the funky console that is!

you'll always make it home, vl's rock
Can't really argue with that, I did make it home after all!!

It didn't have anything like that at all. The only thing I could spot, was the console and berlina written on the dash and the badge on the back. I thought it'd have all the options like the VP (the only other berlina I have driven). But I couldn't see anything that my executive VN doesn't have. I didn't really look though.

Berlina should have different trim options from an exec, velour on part of the door trims, back seat armrest (sedan),electric arial and tacho dash. The gurgling noise from the fuel pump would be the return line squirting fuel back into the tank. Buzzing fuel pumps that are clearly audible are normal.

VL's are just really tidy Commodores, in saying that any Commodore can be tidy but I have found my VL is sweet as, compared to that of the VN I once owned...I get that 'buzz' too...dont stress my car's still running...&& in most cases better than half the guy-owned ones in town...NICE!

Yeah people who drive a VL always say how good it is to drive and how modern they feel. People still rate the VL as the best commodore even after all these years.

The right VL calais even now can command between $10,000-$15,000. Walkinshaws are still around $30,000 and that is bound to go up.

Wow, those walkies are fetching a fair bit! How many originals were made? I've only seen one original (that i know of) the rest were just half-assed efforts.

They were the real deal. Created for touring car racing when the rules stated that to use it on the racetrack it must be on the roadgoing version. MMMMM windtunnel designed bodykit, Twin throttlebodies *drools*. I really miss group A, F%ck V8 supercars its becoming shit.

Glad your first experience of driving a VL was good.

My first experience at driving a Auto was car and I couldnt wait to jump back in my 5 speed.

My first drive of a VL V8 was good though.

    Mmmmmmm torque.
