does anyone know how to replace the thing in the drivers door that holds the door open, the arm is still OK
I looked briefly at this on another VL and it seems difficult to get at, being hard against the window channel, is it riveted in place? or adjustable perhaps?
its a prick to get at yes. you prob have to pull off your door trim and get to it from behind there from memory. (i have only ever pulled them out not put them in as i wreck not assemble cars lol) let me know if you need any parts to fix it as i have about 4 drivers doors complete sitting around and i would be happy to pull it out for you etc. i have an ebay store if your interested. my username on ebay is lil_oneblue. or you can email me at j_ackland@aapt.net.au.
cheers and goodluck
are u sure it's the actual arm part cos it matbe the weld vcos that happnendd to my mums car and she had to get ti welded back together lol apparently it's a common thing even on a vt lol

both mine are broken, i think they just always break lol, i replaced my drivers 1 tho $20 for the piece at wreckers, it took half an hour, hardest parts getting trim off,
Steps
1) take the backing from the side mirror off, get a screw driver and behind the window winder push off the metal ring This Is IMPORTANT. pull door interia thing out from all the clips then pull directly up then pull off plastic.
2)i used an alen key with a converter to a bolt size, and undid the origional 1, then pull it out, and put the whole new mechanism in, its a bit of a tight fit and fiddly. then once done put the door interiiior back on and remember to put ring back on with door winder
more info try personal message me if ya can do that
