    Default Accelerator Cable Adjustment

I was doing some little jobbies under the hood this afternoon and i noticed that my accelerator cable was quite slack. So i tried to tighten it via the adjustment nuts but ran out of thread.( why on earth is the thread plastic is beyond me) Anyway i noticed that there was another spot a bit further back but off to the side where said plastic-thread jobbie could sit and make the cable tighter. Is this a Really smart design for when cables stretch, or im i going to have no acceleration when i go to work tomorrow?
p.s. I have a sharper, more responsive peddle now.

Have a look under the dash where the acc pedal is at the top of the pedal there should be like a white stick that gets touched be the pedal when you tramp it and it makes it go slightly harder. If this isn't getting touched you can adjust the stick thingy so it gets touched sooner and it will make it more responsive. If it can't be adjusted I have head of people putting a little bit of garden hose over the stick to make the diameter of the stick bigger so the pedal touches it sooner.

the accelerator cable should be tight enough so it doesnt appear to droop but have enough slack that with one finger you can easily "bend" it.
you'll know if its too tight, the revs will be too high at idle.

Thanks heaps. I have put it back to where it is meant to sit and adjusted it accordingly. Resulting in a firmer pedal and a bit more punch off the line. AAAHHH, the simple things.

its not really a kickdown switch because it wont kick down in certain gears at certain speed when you open the taps right up.

I might adjust my cable as well.
