new zorst

[VL Berlina 5speed]

i got a new zorst this morning and ive notace it back fires more then my old 1
i use 2 hve a 2.5 on it and now ive got a 2.25 on it straght though with no rear mufflere and its back firing when i let go off the accelirator at all speeds

is this because im not use to the zorst and im leasning to it more or because its new and hasnt got any carbon in side of it??

Hmmm interesting. Did your 2.5 have a resonator and the rear muffler? Did that ever backfire? I always thought back firing occured when unburnt fuel in the pipe hits a hot surface and it ignites causing a backfire. Because when you back off from full throttle there is allot of unburned fuel going in for a fraction of a second.

Is it a crackling noise like "pop pop pop"?
or is just one loud Bang?

my old exhaust had the front muffler and i had a 3ich cannon on the rear (not straght though)
this one is 2.25 and has a front muffler but not rear just a tip

and my bad its like pop pop pop as i gear down and let got of the acelirator, some times it happens between gears (pops bout twice)

if by crakle u mean like 'pop pop pop' as its revs are lowing down, thats what its doing

id be checking for a hole in the exaust, because you get backfire from low pressure in exuast ,when you back off, and normal pressurse trying to get in the hole
if you can get my drift to many vbs lol

an intake system air leak is possible, fresh air being sucked in by the extra vacuum caused by backing off the accelerator

yeah i just put a big bore tip on mine, i need to get the 2nd mufler cut off and put a resignator in, it could be that u dont have enough back presure in it now and so unburnt fuel can get out easier rather than just presurised gas. but now ive put my tip on i can hear the backfire more just like every 10 seconds while ideling a tiny tiny pop, i use to feeel it in the car now i can hear it seing exhaust.. if thats any help at all

well its starting to carm down now i think it was just that it hadnt been used (new) so it had a more of a 'echoing' effect, now its getn some carbon on the inside of the pipe it is not 'echoing' as much though the pipe

nah i HAD a canon on mine b4 like u have got, but i removed it cause lose of back pressure,

im looking at a 3inch dumper tip to be placed on. dose any1 know the ruff price of tips these days and has any1 got a pic of 1 on a vl,

what is a cannon??? and what is the dump pipe?

A cannon is what the hotted up asian cars have sticking out the back it is essentially a muffler with the tip permanently fitted. A dump pipe is an exhaust tip which is angled towards the ground.
