was just reading the new street commodores special hdt mag and saw this VS???? with a blower on it. i had never seen them b4 and was wonderin if there any good, and if they can be fit to a vl???also how much do they cost?
also i was wonderin if anyone knows the average price for a stroker kit for the vl?
OK the Castlemaine rod shop do a supercharger kit for VL 6 cylinder its is around $2000 or so just for the parts and then you need someone to fit it and tune it, you would be looking at a 30% power increase over standard. There are no stroker kits for the rb30 that I have heard about.
there is a storker kit for the rb30 BUT its in japan and it only strokes it out to 3.1 liters or so and cost some thing like 30 grand, these are only used by top companys like HKS and Mine's on there cars, (not sure if these companys use them but just saying quality companys like them us them)

And have a search on these forums. You'll see that 2000 is a rip off, but you'll learn alot more options and things you should know about.
I agree totally that it is a bloody rip off for $2000, the blowers are worth around $500 for a reco unit so am I to believe that a mounting bracket, a decomp plate and a couple of pipes are worth $1500? I think not. and I think thats only for the 3 psi pulley, the better psi pulleys are around $400 each 6psi? *rip off*

a blower is a supercharger, and if u read that intresting thing traversleigh posted it states thatso a new mouting positon and braket will need to be madeThe kit will not fit with the power steering and air conditioning in the factory location

They are not very good blowers either, they are made by toyota for their 4 cyl engines to give them more power like a 6 cyl. They cannot blow very hard either which limits their performance upgradability. For $2000 you could get it turbo'd almost and just run stock boost and be kind to the driveline until you can get all the turbo gear for it.
Maybe a supercharger off a holden supercharged v6 would be allot better for future upgrades.
the rod shop is all shit, a kit a mate got wasnt even close to fitting for what it was meant for
My mate in the r31skyline club brought the crs kit, he gotten rid of it now. he had to secrafice air con and powersteering. Someone did get the blower mounted on the other side, but didnt last long.
also they use this crs kit on the 3.8s, and many ppl say its a waste of time. but yer check out the Castlemain Rodshop (CRS) for more details.
Just go with a turbo.
Also i forgot to mention, with the CRS kit you HAVE TO modify your extractors for fit around the blower unit, the blower and brackets will fit fine around your standard headers.
