Default IDEA! Not Sure If It Would Work Tho

I was just thinking about what air intake system to use on my non turob VL Berlina.... now i was either thinking CAI or just a Pod,but then i thought what if i use both . . . enclose the pod in a box of sum sort, cut a hole in the front and contact a pipe running down for the cold air inatake. Would something like this work? Would i even bother with the Pod filter or would it help? Please help cuz i wanna get started on it straight away.....

enclosing your pod filter in a box is not changing anything u would get beter airflow with the stock panel filter lol.......keep your air box buy a k@n high flow panel filter drill a 3 inch hole in the bottem of ya air box and run some pipeing from behind the front bar to the hole

and wat u mean the engine is not built to withstand power.......the onlything different in the n/a and turbo blocks is the pistons, cam, injectors, intake plenum, compression, and computer....and theres a few n/a rb30s with 150rwk

vl davo has a point, use the k&n filter you already have, cover up the front of your box and cut out the hole and add piping for the cai

not quite uc weapon, i'm talking about keeping an enclosed box and putting the pod in it with the cai pipe coming out under the car, after enclosing the box's open front so you only get the cold air from outside.........

it sounds all good and well but i have had problems with my cai, it works to well that it blows the inside of the afm into the motor or snaps a cable and it flops about making the engine run like shit,

i just put a cap on the end of the cai as its get very bad this time off the year with the rain and lukly i put it on b4 sat night as i went out and it was shiting it down with rain, i was following my cosin and got splashd hard a couple of times and if i didnt cover the end of the cai that morning i would off been needing a new motor

who ever told you that should be shot. you say you love your car so i imagine she's in good nick. if you sell your car you might get a few grand. then you'll be looking at around 5 grand upwards for anything half decent thats turbo. then you'll have to fix anything thats wrong with it. you might as well spend that few grand you've lost and turbo the car you have as you already know what else is wrong with it. plus the fact of how do you know any turbo VL you buy hasn't been thrashed and will need a rebuild anyway. Theres more fun and appreciation to be had by transforming the family car into a sleek kick ass turbo. IMO

hey i cut a 5inch hole under my k&n pod and used galvinised air con ducting and it fitted straight on to the hole on the back of my grp A front bumper, then boxed the pod filter in to ensure no intake of hot air from the radiator.

Heres's what i done to mine, because you'll probably find that the hole in the bottom of the airbox will not help your roadworthy. When i fang it in first ppl from over 50m away will still look to see what made the noise, and have to think if it is turbo (it whistles/howls (loudly)), its slow kinda but sounds good. Kinda Rice, but every1 loves it.
