Am I Being Ripped Off Because I'm A Chick? :'(

Help guys,i think i'm being ripped off... I've got a full walkinshaw kit all in primer ready to go on my VL Berlina and I want the whole car to be Gold (it's Maron now) and when i went around and got quotes they wanted about $10,000 to do it all,and i said what about if i sand it all back myself and they said that will only knock about $1500 off, is this all correct or am i being fu(k over AGAIN! :b:

Full car respray to a different colour is expensive if you want a decent job done... though $10g still does sound a little much.

They were going to fit the kit too...... and it is a 14piece kit, i dun know,maybe im not getting ripped,i just don't wanna fork out so much money LoL I would fit the kit myself,but i have absoulty no idea how to :b:

Shop around, see what different places will do (NEVER go with the first quote).. sounds to me like you are being ripped off lol

Ok... so for spraying and fitting the kit too.. it doesn't sounds horrible so long as its a GOOD job...

But yeah always shop around too...

Yer I'll probably go down to Melbourne and get it done, I'll get it cheaper there probably. What paint do you think i should go with, (don't worrie about $) the new Fusion on the monaro, Black or a real looking Gold, like real light???

yeah $10,000 is steep.. when I owned my vl *shudder* i got quoted $3,000 for a respray..

Thats a fu<kin NICE looking Car , i love it LoL How do you go driving it around in town and stuff? do you scrape much?? because mines dropped on its guts and i scrape everywhere and the kit isn't even on yet.. I get the feeling i'm going to have to bring it up a bit

Don't forget it's a complete change in colour... not just a respray of the original. Plus the kit (most places ask about $1500+ to spray and fit a kit)

lol well how many speedbumps are around? you'll probably have to bring it up to at least lows..

I'm getting a new VS S/C Calais... but it's only going to get lows... and no kit.. no problems for me at least :P

Trust me i know,ever since i left my bf i've been getting ripped off left right and centre,it ended up costing me 500$+ just to get the fu(king fuel gauge fixed and the amount of shit they put me thru i felt like saying just keep the god damn car i'm going LoL i do have male friends but all of them are working and stuff,plus they have gf's who are very jelouse with them hanging round me,because i'm like them,i'm in to cars and stuff sooo yeah i'm up shit creek with out a paddle :b:

There are a few speed humps around and where i'm living now i don't even thinking i could get it up the driveway with out ripping off the front and back bar LoL I was thinking of getting a VS Calais, there a nice car :-D but i love the older ones too much, i don't even have my P's yet and have two cars and sold another one LoL i love em He He He

nah dad won't do it, It's just me and my baby (my car) so i'll just have to keep ringing around getting quotes i guess. yeah i'd have more cars but i can't where i'm living,plus i barely even get time to look at my Torana :'( I've been flat out latly, haven't been at home GRRRRR :-P
