I don't think its really worth the hassle, I mean whats the stock figure for an rb20e? can't be that far off the rb30e really and to be honest the rb30e isn't exactly a powerhouse LOL. you should look into an rb20det or an rb25det then you will be laughing.

I think alot of people would rather an rb30e over an rb20e purely so that they aren't driving a 2.0L 4 cylinder. the rb20dets still arent that powerful either are they? I know a guy with a VL that has one in his car, i know its intercooled and is running 10psi but thats it...and it has around 140kw.

LOL RB20 is a 6 cylinder mate. The nissan 4 cylinders are the SR,CA and FJ motors, all RB are 6's. Mate had an r32 with an rb20det and it was dead stock with around 170kw he could beat my mates VTSS S1 5 speed with no problems.

And your mate with the VL? is that 140kw atw? The dohc rb's are easily more efficient than the single ohc motors because they are 4 valves per cylinder instead of 2 on the single cam

Yes but the RB30E has more torque.

hey mate im in chch and have a sweet rb30 full loom and computer ,motor only done 170km and goes like no other rb30 ive driven for what apears to be a stock engine other than a different no. on the injectors. also have the 3l diff all sitting there doing nothing. would be a days work max you can run your 2l box no worries but is a differant ratio, quicker acceleration but slower top speed.

I'm just saying that he might be disappointed if he gets an rb30e in there and has spent good money on it when for a bit more money could have gone turbo.

Its his car tho so good luck with it.

Lol i stand corrected and that has to be the worst post i've made so far. I assumed it was a 4 cylinder because its a 2.0Litre engine...My knowledge is more commodore based than jap stuff. As for the power that was a guess because I dragged the VL from rolling start at 50km/h. I was trying to guess its power seeing as its lighter than a VN and the fact it was from rolling start at 50km/h and my VN would have had its strength off line. They come with an intercooler stock, so what psi do they run stock?

not sure, wouldn't be more than 10psi standard. RB30et has 150kw with its sohc the rb20det has more power even tho it has a smaller capacity. Its kinda hard to "guess" power when racing a car.
A VN has a lot of torque, a little more than a standard vl turbo because of the larger capacity= more torque.
