fuel guage problems

hi guys i got an 87 series 2 calais turbo and a few months ago the fuel guage started to stuff up and now it has stopped workin all together just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and how did they fix it cuase its annoying me

ive kinda got the same problem as u my gauge reads wrong and i cant find the problem i know its not the gauge as ive hooked another internal pump up to the wires and moved the float by hand out side of the tank and the gauge moved like normal. so im havin a go to fixing it now. ill tell you if i work out whats wrong with mine good luck

my fuel gauge didnt work, and when i put my new dash in it works now... So my prob was only in the dash,

Alot of it has to do with the connections at the back of the speedo.

yeh i have that problem BUT ........ i didnt fix it lol. i was gunna look into gettin an aftermarket gauge. my gauge sumtimes works but has never showed a reading once i get under about a third of a tank

Same; except mine worked when i gave it a thump, the needle occasionally gets stuck.
