    Default vl running rough

    Hi all....

My vl turbo runs great when its cold, but as soon as it gets hot ( usually when you switch the car off after a short trip and get back in ) it runs like a bucket of sh!t.

What would cause the car to run like crap when it is hot only???

    Any info much appreciated!!!
    cheers

Is it overheating? Is it rough at idle only or when driving as well?

    Afm Has Been Replaced.

No The Car Is Not Over Heating.

I Cant See How The Temp Can Make The Car Run Like Crap.
I Was Told It Could Be A Temp Sender But Surely That Wouldnt Make It Run So Bad.

Like I Said When Its Cold Or Done Its First Run To The Local Shop It Runs Good.

    Thanks For Your Replys

could be anything man, a sensor could be tellin ur CPU anything, could be tellin it to run too rich or too lean. could be tellin it your engine temp is 15degrees, or maybe 200deg ... who knows. If u have a mechanic u know well or an auto electrician i'd be askin them for some advice

Does it blow any smoke? If so, what colour? Its hard to tell sometimes if it does, just get a mate to drive behind ya is the best way.

Could be the CAS bearing worn and when hot starts playing up.

could be a coolant temp sensor fault.

I will check the manual later for ya and hopefully have an answer.

i'm betting on the temp sensor.

ucwepn...the best way to tell if the bearing is worn on the dizzy shaft is to pull the dizzy cap off and look for orange dust. this dust will interfere with the CAS.

yeah i was thinking a temp sender.

would a temp sender cause the engine to have no power?
what are the syptoms of a rooted temp sender?

    cheers

I had this problem once. It turned out to be the crank angle sensor. It would run perfect when cold but the warmer it got the worse it would run. The diagnostics showed it was running lean when it warmed up.

Yer i am betting on temp sender as well.

If you got a multimeter take the plug off and measure it when cold and again once it starts playing up. I havent got my book handy but if you post the measurements you get i will get my book and see if the readings are out of whack.

U will be supprised it might a spark plug or a HT lead mine did the same thing as this and I thought it was something to do with fuel or air or a sensor. But my old man didnt think so and he change a few things round and now she goes like a treat.
