VL Drag Build

Hi all, a mate and me just brought a VL Ex for $400 with hopes of getting it on the drag strip

Right now its in the Strip and clean stage

And before you ask im not looking at breakind speed records, this is just for fun

And this is how the car is currently looking





So far.....

- Replaced Rocker head cover seal, the old one just was rock hard
- Removed Extracotrs and re-painted
- Also new Exhaust manfold gasket
- Air filter clean

To be done

- New spark plugs
- New ignision leads
- Check Dizzy
- Re-Wire Battery leads, right to the started motor, All cracked and rusted
- New oil/Filter
- New fuel pump filter
- Dyno tune
- New shocks back and front
- New wheels

What kind of times are you aiming for? With an mildly tuned NA and auto in a stripped out car you should get at least low 15's.

If you plan to turbocharge it remove at least 1 second from the ET

Yep, Fiberglass and beer cans - that what the last owners did

Yeah low 15s, just for some fun - i am waiting on a email for another VL motor that we are going to re-build over the next year
