r32 boxes are basically the same as the mf5 - n/a 5speed, generally not too much difference although they do seem quite strong.

r33 5 speeds will bolt up to the rb30 with the old manual gear, only changes are tailshaft yolk, and the master/ slave cylinders need to be adapted, along with a speedo drive sender needs to be changed.

any rb gearbox should bolt up without too much hassle

what you mean basicly the same? would there be any diffrence in the gear ratios or stuff like that or is it just the layout of the houseing?

Not quite sure on what the gear ratio's are like.

I'm speaking in terms of strength, they are basically the same.

it also depends on your diff ratio. but if diffs are the same i figure the rb30 box could be up to 20km/hr less than yours.

yeah probably not as quick on the initial takeoff but you'd get 70km/hr out of 1st.

My old stocko would get around 120, but give and take a fair bit because speedo's vary and so do rev's apparently.

yah i can get the 70ks out of my first gear, so if i was to change the diff ratio to say 3.9 or 4.11 that would make the car run equivelant to a stock vl 5spd with 3.45 gears ?
