2jz into vl

i was juz wonderin if ne1 knows some1 who has tried this conversion (2jz into vl calais). i was also wondering how hard this conversion would be i realise u'd need custom engine mounts and i'd be using a motec enigine management. i'd gettin larger brakes and stronger diff im juz wanna know if its been done b4.

Yeah a guy put one in a vk. over in perth i think. I was heading down this path but decided to transplant an alloytec instead. Everything is virtually opposite sides. other than that its petty straight forwrd, since also people use the supra and celica boxes in commodores.

Yeah the exhaust is on the drivers side in a 2jz so it kinda fouls the steering, that will be the biggest hurdle in this conversion.

thanx for ur help i will be purchasin the motor soon but will not be in the car for a little while coz im goin to build the motor out of the car.

sounds good just make sure you measure all the clearances in the engine bay and stuff to avoid headaches later.

decided to sell the vl gettin a vp and puttin a big block in instead sorry i juz couldnt be bother i checked all the measurements etc and fount it would be difficult so i decided not to go ahead .... vl is sold so dont ask if its still for sale

just put a RB26DETT Nissan GTR motor in there....same engine mounts, will bolt in with ease and you still get a twin turbo damn strong engine, bitta boost, aftermarket ecu, good full exhaust, big fuel pump, you'd be making btw 230-250kw (still standard motor & turbo's too) i'm pretty sure your gearbox will fit, if not R33 5-speed (damn tough gearbox) for around $1500.
