Any probs with 100 watt high beam globes in hedlite housing, ize countryfied so they can be glowing for awhile.
Anyone know of modification or replacement of rear brake backing plate to facilitate adjustment of rear drums without removing them.

100wat bulbs could be a bit dangerous as if u use 2 high of wattage globe it draws to much currnt and it causes to melt the fuse rail in the fuse box. DONT put a higher rated fuse in the holder as it will cause the cables to super heat and run a chance of catching on fire
i read somwhere in my owners handbook taht for cold starts in vls you slowly pump the acelirator down then back up before starting to activate the auto choke, this could help withj the starts for yah
and using a bit of jucie hay? waht ks are you getting? there can be many causes, common 1s are AFM, temp sensor, CO2 sensor
if these are off or dud then it makes tha car run rich

well done matey. as he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
in general, commodore electrical systems are only just strong enoutgh to handle normal demands, increasing the power of anything causes problems
extra heat from stronger globes will likely cause heat problems to the headlight units, some separate driving lights, using a relay would be better, the standard lights were never thought much good, even when VLs were new
did you take the lights apart, they are often dirty inside with the silvering damaged by heat
to start a 6cyl VL from cold, turn on the ign and wait for the sound of the fuel pump to stop, be patient, a loud series of clicks points to the fuel tank being almost empty
keeping the foot off the accelerator pedal, a short run of the starter motor usually gets it going first time
yah 'priming' as u described is ment to be done before you pump the pedal once to activat the chokeOriginally Posted by harry3

The vl headlight lose their brightness over time (mine have) Instead of getting more powerful globes get a pair of new headlights and you will gain much better vision and they look sweet as well. I am gonna get some one day, its on the cards oh yes.
starting methods are different for the 6 and the V8
the 6 doesnt have a choke, the fuel injection richens the mixture, keep your foot off the accelerator when starting the 6
