The manual says cut the hoses because the new injectors will have new hoses or reco'd ones should have the hoses replaced as well. When fitting the new injectors make sure to put some petroleum jelly on the sealing rings and use a little fuel mto lubricate the hose when sliding it onto the rail.

Which are you replacing? if all, have to take the top of the inlet off and it will be much easier.

damn, the "newer" injecters are still in the plenum chamber in the shed, and i was hoping i wouldnt have to cut the hoses! oh well. also would the injectors have anything to do with a rough idle?

Just pull the newer injectors off the fuel rail and cut the old ones off the car. You should always use new sealing rings when replacing injectors. don't cut the hoses on the newer injectors. Take the plenum off to remove them.
