Can someone please give me a hand. My boot release button, stereo and headlights have all stopped workin at the same time. Parkers and high beam still work. Have checked all fuses and they are all fine. Do they run off a relay? Or could it be a fuse not in the fusebox? Any ideas? thanks
James
i think it's fuse number 9 that has those faults.
get it checked out by an auto elec
Yea it is but the cabin light and boot lights still working so it cant be that fuse
Headlights will run off a relay, and it would believe it would be seperate to your boot release and stereo (Not sure not going out in the cold for a looksy). Have a look at the fuse holders, they could not be making contact, or you might have a bad earth.
I also find with my boot release that it does not work 100% of the time, and that it has to be sat/jumped on first b4 the button will work.
My Bad if the other items on the fuse are working then it wont be your holders or your fuses, id say it'd be your earthing getting shorted.
Lift your bonnet, click you parkers, you should hear a relay click and you should also hear a click when going to the headlights, if it clicks and headlights don't come on your bulbs are blown or is getting earthed out. (Might help to try twice once with the relay once without the relay as im not sure whether you'll hear the parker one click out)...I'll give it a go 2moro nehow, just got out of hospital and have till wed off.
Should probably check out the wiring behind the stereo. When i pulled my stereo out to tidy up all my wiring i found cable not connected properly, they were only twisted with a bit of tape on them. As your wiring for your boot release is behind there aswell.
Just checked the relays, it clicks on and off for the parkers and headlights but only the parkers are working. Must be a bad earth as all stereo wiring behind the head is ok. Will have to wait till saturday. Thanks for the suggestions
Bad Earths somethimes fix themsleves...i had my highbeams blow fuses everytime i turned it on, then one worked for about a month then they both started working again...i fiddled around with the fusebox, but didn't do nething to stop it, from what i believe.
Play around with a multimeter, might be able to narrow results down a little.
