My calais has recently had a wheel alignment, it is very twitchy/ sensitive ior sharp in the steering. Requires constant work of the steering whell in a straight line. Ive been told it probably needs more camber, and that it might be due to it being lowered and the consequent change of geometry. this is the 3rd VL i have owned and it is not super low, my last one was very low and didnt have this problem.
a)- will camber be my problem
b)- is this easily adjustable.
Also I have posted this befor but will ask again, it sits low on the drivers side at the front. New springs didnt fix it and chasis is straight. have spend over $300 at holden dealership and another mechanics shop and they cant figure it out.
Any help or suggestions greatly apprciated
im not sure about camber but the lowness could be many resorns like worn shocker worn bushes or strut tower twisting or bowing(unlikely thought)
check if the chocker is stuffd by pushing down on the car aqnd if it stops its fine but if it bounces then the shocker is fekd

Try and push the car side to side at the rear wheel arch and see if the body rocks over the rear wheels, there's a very good chance your panhard rod bushes are shot(expecially if it has nolathane ones in it), it causes the exact things you describe
Yeh rear wheel steer from shot bushes, and drivers side sits lower-must be rear spring/s if new front 1s didn't help.Originally Posted by foammedia
If it's not that then it MUST be BENT!!!
I was confused now I'm just not so sure!!

Have you checked the bearing plates on the front struts the plastic cap in the centre should not be above the strut tower. It is fairly common for these to bend over time which will change your ride height and upset your wheel alignment. Also check the rods that go from your sway bar to the wishbone to see if they are the same length if one is bent it will be shorter, or someone might have replaced one with one off a different model car whichis different.
