5-Speed Gearbox Issue

Hey im picking up a Vl 5-Speed next week, and the box has an issue. Sometimes you have to hold the shifter in place when in first gear only.
Anyhelp please?

The first thing that springs to mind is clutch

Could be a bent selector fork or worn bearings on one of the shafts.
