can anyone help me out. im wondering wat the diff ratios r in a 6 cyl auto vl and a 6 cyl manual vl. do all vls have disc rear brakes. Cheers
I think they are a 3.45.1 standard, only calias has disc rear unless it was a option when new
so manuals n autos have the same ratio do they? So there r vls with drum brakes?
yes autos and manual NA rb30s have the same diff ratio. mainly turbos and V8s had disc rear ends.
ive got a 3.36 in my vl turbo

v8 was 3.08, 6's were 3.45

they dont feel like they are stayin on, i didnt change the master cyl .... any1 done the conversion or u guys just talkin up like i've found alot of ppl do around here ......
Well I've done a bit of studying in this area LOL, The info I found for the disc brake rear conversions being done on VL's was that there is a PSI difference between the master cylinders because the drums are using the extra psi to keep the shoes open because they are spring loaded. And that if you use the drum master cylinder on a disc brake rear conversion you will get a small amount of brake drag because the pad will be touching the disc. Calais turbo are the best for VL tech articles, I swear by the guys there.
There are dreamers on every type of forum on the net, its just human nature rofl
lol yeh tru. I try and stay clear of CalaisTurbo if i can, man some of those guys like an argument!![]()
Whats the reason for the 3.36 diff ratio? Wouldnt you prefer the 3.45 VL ratio instead, and the Borg Warner diff is stronger than the big salisbury diffs?Originally Posted by kasey375

and VL turbo was 3.5.1Originally Posted by rb26dett

No VL Turbo's had the 3.45 ratio also. Same diff as the VL V8 (4 pinion, 28 spline), but with the 3.45 ratio.Originally Posted by subdue
