    Default noisey fan

my fan behind my radiator is really noisey,
its in good condition it just it makes a lot of air being blowen around noise like gushing air, and i wasnt sure if this was normal, is there anything that can be done to quiten it down? or is it one of those things i should just try and ignore and turn the music up a bit more

I can not speak for holden fans but before the VL I've been Ford only, one eyed even, but the metal fans were even more annoying and I would have thought it would be the same with holdens but I haven't tried it on the VL so I'm only going on past experience. cheers

When the car has been driven turn it off and see if the fan spins by hand easy, if not the fan clutch hub might be stuffed..
I was confused now I'm just not so sure!!

Some lock up and some free spin when stuffed.

Try opening the bonnet start the car and from under the bonnet open the throttle slowly till the revs are about 1700-2000rpm and the fan should be roaring air in , hold the revs there say a minute and the engine should all of a sudden gets real smooth and the air roaring in should stop. If it does that it's ok , if it roars non stop it's stuffed..
