the nissan engine was shoehorned into the VL, resulting in a crossflow radiator with both hoses on the same side
it relies on an internal baffle to send the water over to the other side, the baffle has been known to fall off
this results in overheating from the water going straight down on the hoses side
the radiator should be the same temperature when felt on both sides

I note that the bottom hose has no reinforcement to stop it closing up under suction so I guess this isnt a problem??
