Default fuel usage.....cant be right or can it?

well splashed some fuel in my car this after noon as it got to red (i know it aint good)
looked at my trip clock and it had 297km on it which i reset at every fill up, i filled up with 33 ltrs last week as we had the local JC crusie.

is this unheard of getting 9 ltrs to 100kms in a vl, i was grany driving shifting at 1200-1300rpm all week besides two drag races that accoured,
i have changed every sensor in my car recently and its running smooth and perfect, could this b why im getting soo good?
it is said that stock manual vls get 10.5 100km so if its possible? and not my trip clock stuff? im stooked if it not stuffd

the great thing is a drive like this always with out thinking of shifting early, problem is i dont get payed much so cant fill up and use it to my advatage well
what do yous out there get? ____ltr per 100km

could it also be to do with having a zorst system and CAI with K&N panel allowing quick in and quick out of fresh air and th by products?

Can you list all the sensors you have changed, and whether they were new or used...
and roughly how much for each one...

    thanks

sensors were sourced from a self service wreakers (u pull it), cost me a dollar to get in, and u can figger the rest

temp sensor - 1 dollar, searchd the wreaker over a 2hour period looking for the best and i found one which as brand spanking new,
    o2 sensor same as temp,
CAS second hand dissy with warrnty for 4 months -88bucks
    set the AFM to 382ohm
ACC valve same as the sensors, clean second hand
timing stock none of that advance BS
i run on standerd fuel 92ron (no pingin)
every now and then run a tank of injector cleaner 2
oil change every 5000 including a new oil filter every time

    then i got mods
    extracors
    2.25 zorst
    K&N panel filter
    custom CAI

I took my vs exec down to Bundaberg,QLD at easter time this year (about 10 hours drive) and i was getting over 800 k's with a 59 litre tank. the car was in a fairly average condition, with the only mod being a new exhaust

thats a vs though, theres a slight difference, 9L/100 k's seems very good 2 me even 4 a vl in the city, i get bout 11 in my vk but thats a less economical motor, mind u thats not granny footing it either, the extractors made a fair difference 4 me (was about 13 b4)

anyway sounds like ur engine is running sweet and i hope u keep having a good run with it

I'm just saying if my beat up vs can do it, a vl should be able to get up there as well

    well actually...........no.

the motor had a top-end rebuild about 15,000k's ago, just before i bought it and it's running the same 200,000k old bottom end it left the factory with.
just a very sweet motor. only mods are extractors and exhaust, I haven't put the cai on yet, because considering last time, the less power amy has, the less likely it'll say hi to the wall again.

I do keep it in good tune and change the oil regularly, plugs etc. but maybe it's just a freak.

I've put no more than $20.00 of petrol (1.29p/l) at a time and I only re-fuel about once every 15-20 days.

But then again I'm only on my Learner's, Lol.

I sat down one day after comparing fuel economy / km / $$$$ !!!

It actuly works out cheaper to run my VL, and mrs's barina on BP Ultimate instead of unleaded.

The Barina doesn't ping, more km's, VL more km's, both run smoother, combined with cai, extractors, they arn't dragsters but are more responcive !

Well once I filled up at 522k on the odo and I still only put some 57liters into a 65 litre tank... So I think I would've got 550km's outta it, however, I credit that to slipstreaming my dad's landcruiser on a 4 hour highway trip..

You gotta love the effects of drafting.... Considering I was like never more than two car lengths behind...
