the rb30 blocks. did they all come from factory with the turbo oil line drilled and taped into block and just plugged??
is their any diff between a turbo crank and a standard crank?
yes and dunno sorry...
Some are and some aren't, there are the plugs in the block for these lines but depending on which one some only had the tap drilled and doesn't go through to the galleries and others did. if it only has a plug in it and doesn't go all hte way through to the galleries, all you have to do is drill it through.
i'm not too sure on the cranks, i'd saythere wouldn't be a diference because the stroke is the same for the turbo and non turbo blocks but there is a difference in the pistons. turbo blocks came with a low rise head and the n/a came with a highrise head. you need turbo pistons to drop the compression or else all you do isblow headgaskets.
Soon to be back on the road, Turbo VG.
series 1 NA motors didnt not have these lines tapped into the block (turbo did) but the series 2 NA block had them all drilled and taped, thus why people say turbo a series 2 motor

the cranks are the same. the heads are the same too, just the cam is different. and the series 2 NA and all turbo blocks are the same.
