    Wink RB26DETT in VL :)

    How would you go putting an RB26DETT into a VL? Has it been done?
    I'm not gonna do it, but would it work?
    Or Stick with the RB30, then bolt on a T25G and some other big laggy thing??

    has it been done? only like a million times... i say stick with the rb30 but piss the turbo off and supercharge it, you dont have to do something because 20,000 other ppl have vl turbo's, be different... my mates old man had a vl wagon with s/c rb30 in it, was off nut... plus no lag!

    all the rb series motors will fit in the vl with work, it is actually common to see a diffrent turbo motor in the vl but the twin turbo set up on the rb26 would have to possibly be alterd to fit,
    a vl calais that was on the last jc crusie in sa but wasnt twin turbo if im correct, cant rember three days ago lol

    Meh, I'll stick 2 early commy V8's, mates!
    Then perhaps supercharge one if bordom flies over my house
    I know a guy who put a 5.7 SL1 into an LX torana, then Supercharged it. So much to go wrong though

    my suggestion would be to take the RB26dett head and all other bolt on goodies, and starp that onto your RB30.

    This too has been done before, but you dont have to worry about the fu*#ing around of changing numbers, and you'll have a 3L twinn cam twin turbo, instead of a measly 2.6L ! .................LOL
    This is capable of legal 9's all day !

    under 10 requires a roll cage, and gettign rego with a roll cage would not be the easyest

    In sa your NOT allowed to have a full rollcage, the cage has to finish behind the frontseat and then there is not allowed to be any seats in the rear.

    Ive almost finished sourcing the parts needed for my VLT conversion.

    A VL with a toyota 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo, 3L, I6) would be different but not unique, been done a few times from what i know of.

    or a vl with a 409 big block out of a 65 impalla ss, can you say 10 ltr v8

    yes with the roll cage in sa, when you remove the rear seats it becomes illegal as it isnt able to carry the stated amount of passngers,

    Ahk, so then u have to have it engineered to carry only 2 pasengers?

    well i had a idea of doing it to a mini, no rear seats and bigger motor but thought about it in detail and was told that rule so forgot about it.
    when you get it engineered i would assume they would check the whole car over like regency and make it hard to get it regoed.

    If you got the RB30 motor, put an RB25 or RB26 head on it, with all the goodies (Twin cam, 24 valve, Variable valve timing I think...), then you bolt on a Centrifugal 'Vortech' supercharger. With the larger throttle body and a bit of cam and ignition advance, plus adding an aftermarket ECU, you'd be laughing champ..
