if im correct bangers posted details whle ago about the internals and how its all forges, i think it said it would hold to 1100hp but it was told that the bolts on the big end of the rods was the weaks link and would recomend been changed...
think its in the thread aboutperformance upgrades or something

check out 'upgrade tips' in the VL section. if you want 600+hp then maybe just get the standard rods shot peened and polished. otherwise leave them. arp bolts will hold the rods on the crank. get the crank linished (micro polished), no need for a different crank either.
Might pay to talk to someone like Nizpro. They have done a lot of work onRB engines. I thought i read somewhere that the factory pistons and rods are at their limit at around 500 to 550HP and the block needsto be strengthened at 750HP + to stop them cracking between cyls 4 and 5.
