    Question noisy Lifters

    Hey Guys, new member here cool site. Just wanting to know i know its a common problem with 2 & 3 L. I own 4 of them and they all have noisy lifters i heard that you cant fix it, so i was wondering if you guys can give me some ideas on what u guys have done to quiet your lifters? Cheers any info will be great

    welcome
    my VL 6cyl engine lifters were quietened by nulon lifter free and tune up. this is despite changing the engine oil and filter often

    use a thicker oil and lifter free quitend my vr v6 a while back good luck

    yeah sweet, got 15/40 atm. thinking of givng it a oil change aswell as nulon lifter free. Cheers.

    15/40, i think my vr is sposed to use 25w/50 but i use fully synthetic 10w/50 and its very quiet.. dont use castrol magnetec. nulon lifter free is cheaper at supercheap :P

    Mine were worn on the top where the rocker arm pushes on them, so i pulled them out and honed them flat again with an oil stone that is meant for sharpening knives and axes. It took a while to do but it worked.
    It could be just the excuse you need to put a new cam and lifters in it.

    if you go to www.calaisturbo.com.au, in the TECH section there are a couple of articles that outline how you can clean your lifters, which can fix/help the problem caused when the oil hole fills up with crap
